Devin Austin Bishop, a 29-year-old Manchester man, has been charged with assaulting a federal officer at the U.S.-Canada border in Maine. The incident occurred when Bishop was speeding across the bridge from Canada into the U., veering into the outbound lane. A U.N. Customs and Border Protection officer was on patrol and pursued Bishop in an agency vehicle. During the struggle, the firearm was discharged but no one was injured. If convicted, Bishop could face up to eight years in prison.
