GOP senators push to fund Trump ballroom after correspondents’ dinner shooting

Republican senators are introducing legislation to fully fund construction of President Donald Trump's requested ballroom, following the shooting at the White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) dinner. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, said his bill would secure $400 million and include additional security measures underground. If Congress approves the funding, it is unlikely the private WHCA dinner would be held there.
