A group of stolen dogs led a 10-mile trek home from a meat factory in Changchun, Jilin province, China, after their illegal capture. The escape was captured in a video that has over 230 million views on the Chinese social media platform Douyin. Netizen, surnamed Lu, filmed the dogs walking along a highway and through fields, but they continued their trek. Local rescue group Bitter Coffee Stray Dog Base attributed their coordination and synergy to their familiarity with each other. Dog theft is considered a criminal offense in China and carries penalties ranging from fines to imprisonment depending on the animal's value.
