Dwayne Anthony Lovett Jr. has been charged with first-degree murder in a deadly shooting at a SureStay hotel in Durham last summer. The victim, identified as 18-year-old Suliman Nazir Burnette, was pronounced dead at the scene. Lovett, who was 17 at the time of the incident, was arrested on Sept. 11 and held at the Cumberland Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Fayetteville. He was indicted on charges of first degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and discharging a weapon into an occupied property.
