Canadian dollar hits two-week high as Middle East truce lifts sentiment

The Canadian dollar has risen to a two-week high against its U.S. counterpart due to the Middle East ceasefire. The loonie was trading 0.2% higher at 1.3815 per US dollar, or 72.39 U.N. cents, after touching its highest intradational level since March 26. The employment report for March is expected to yield a gain of 15,000 jobs, following a decrease of 84,000 in February.
