Ex-Massachusetts city official who embezzled funds for steak tips, Toyota Prius pleads guilty

Thomas Clasby, Jr., former Quincy, Massachusetts, city director of Elder Services, has pleaded guilty to embezzling funds from the city. He allegedly used funds to pay for 153 pounds of bourbon steak tips, a Toyota Prius, and personal expenses. Clasbys arranged for the city to pay $8,950 to a music studio for recordings of Clasbutens and $1,658 for a self-portrait. He also arranged to pay more than $38,000 to a New York consulting company owned by Classby's friend. The charges could result in up to 20 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000.
