J.D. Power has released its 2026 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study, which rates modern vehicles by brand and category after a three-year period of ownership. The study found that the most dependable midsize pickup truck category was the Toyota Tacoma, with no other comparable model scoring higher than this. The findings also highlighted the issue of premium-class vehicles being less reliable than their mass-market counterparts, both of which were found to be caused by electricity. The worst area for vehicle issues was the infotainment system category, accounting for 56.7 problems per 100 vehicles.
