There is a crowded Democratic race for the 8th Congressional District in the US House of Representatives. Former Congresswoman Melissa Bean, who held the seat from 2005 to 2011, is running again in a different 8th congressional district due to recent redistricting. Junaid Ahmed, a tech entrepreneur, has focused his campaign on Bean's contributions from big donors and Super PACs. In total, there are eight Democrats vying to replace Raja Krishnamoorthi, who is running for Senate. The winner of the Democratic primary will face one of four Republicans in November.
