Somerset County's 1st Cat Lounge is officially opening, with owner Sarah Zimmerman and partner Adam Adams. The business aims to create a positive space for people while helping cats find homes. Zimmerman, a self-proclaimed pet lover, previously worked at a veterinary clinic at 14 years old and has always loved animals. The lounge is designed as a cat lounge rather than a cat cafe, not selling food or coffee, but guests can bring their own food or beverages inside. The goal is to give cats more visibility and increase their chances of adoption. Zimmerman also plans to host events such as yoga, game nights, bingo, painting sessions, and programs for seniors and LGBTQ teens with cats.
