Single-use plastic water bottles no longer used at Nashville Zoo as site aims to avoid 22,000 pounds of plastic waste

The Nashville Zoo has eliminated single-use plastic water bottles from all on-site beverage locations in an effort to reduce plastic waste by over 1 million pounds per year. The move is part of a larger commitment to reducing plastic waste and supporting a healthier environment for wildlife. The aluminum containers chosen were chosen due to their high recyclability and ability to support a reduced reliance on single-used materials. Fountain beverages will still be available throughout the park.
