A U.S. appeals court has ruled that Texas can continue to require the Ten Commandments to be displayed in public schools, a victory for conservatives who have long sought to incorporate more religion into classrooms. The decision, which supports similar laws in Arkansas and Louisiana, was rejected by the 5th US. The American Civil Liberties Union and other groups challenging the Texas law said they anticipate appealing the ruling to the Supreme Court. The law, signed by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott in September, requires schools to display donated posters in a conspicuous place and requires them to be visible from anywhere in a classroom to a person with "average vision".
