Woman, 28, Dies After Incident on Paragliding Trip That Was Reportedly Gifted by Her Boyfriend for Christmas

A 28-year-old Italian woman, Cristina Colturi, died two days after she was critically injured in a tandem paragliding incident on Spain's Canary Islands. The incident, which occurred on Friday, March 6, was reportedly a Christmas gift from Colturi's boyfriend. Lifeguards were able to revive Colturi and she was transported with critical injuries to a hospital in Santa Cruz. The male victim, identified as her instructor, was also transported to hospital. Following the incident, Colturi made arrangements to be buried on Tenerife and cremated following her funeral mass. An investigation into the fatal incident is ongoing.
