Off-duty Orange County sheriff's deputy charged in shooting death of her fiancée in Tustin

Off-duty Orange County Sheriff's deputy, Aimee Alexis Hidalgo, has been charged in the shooting death of her fiancée, 35-year-old Brittany Shaw, in their Tustin apartment on August 8. The shooting occurred when Shaw returned home from walking her dog and Hididgo allegedly thought she was an intruder. The couple were planning a destination wedding in Mexico in 2025. Hidicgo is being charged with voluntary manslaughter and using a personal firearm, both felonies. The deputy is on administrative leave while the investigation continues.
