The Florida Senate has unanimously approved legislation that amends the Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) to create an aerospace hub at Cecil Airport. The bill requires JAA to take responsibility for the economic development of Cecil Airport, including workforce development, training, infrastructure investment, job creation and technology innovation. It also includes a revised threshold for expenses requiring a competitive bidding process. The Florida House of Representatives has also approved the bill.
