Former football player, Syreeta Gapelu, stopped a man from breaking into her car in Kansas City, Missouri. The incident occurred while she and her best friend were having a brunch and then dropped off to their car. The man was breaking into the car and snatched his book bag, shut my door, ran into the gas meter, and then tackled him to the ground. Despite his knowledge of the incident, the man had stolen jewelry, including an engagement ring, and may have helped recover stolen items from other people. Despite her struggle to stop the man from stealing, she credits her experience as a defensive tackle for the Kansas City women's football team.
