Rick Bowness, former head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets, has seen the team's recent meltdown, which saw them blow a 4-0 lead in a 5-4 overtime victory against the New York Rangers. The team has blown a lead in third periods 18 times, including four of Bownes' first 14 games. Despite this near collapse, the win keeps the team’ playoff hopes alive. Bownish will discuss this with Blue Jackets president/general manager Don Waddell in the spring. This was the fourth time the team had blown a third period lead since Bownespon took over, but there are still 23 games left to play.
