Former Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttigieg, has claimed that people now trust Communist China more than the United States to "do the right thing" due to President Donald Trump's leadership. He also stated that the U.S. has diminished in stature globally and is no longer a "leading nation" under Trump. This shift is due to China's rapidly expanding military and nuclear capabilities, which could potentially target U.,S. territories like Hawaii and Alaska. The Chinese government has been accused of aggressive espionage, including infiltrating the US.
