The use of AI in music has been met with friction but also with a growing trend of artists integrating it into their production. Pop-music performer/composer Lauv, along with Grammy-winning mixing engineer and producer Jordan “DJ Swivel” Young, developed an AI voice model of Lauv’s voice and translated his hit single “Love U Like That” into Korean. Jacob Collier, a rising star, partnered with Google on MusicFX DJ, an AI music production tool, in 2024. In 2025, Collier expressed his belief that AI can create a "non-linear, weird, continuously evolving tapestry of sound" that can be steered in meaningful and uncharted directions. Legendary country music singer Randy Travis used AI technology to replace his voice for a new song after a health crisis in 2013. The use of this technology has often been seen as a tool that helps resolve unresolved relationships and creative partnerships.
