Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has suggested that an international coalition could escort tankers through the Strait of Hormuz. This comes as shipping traffic has been delayed for nearly two weeks due to the ongoing U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran. Despite President Donald Trump stating that the strait was in "great shape," Iran's supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei has stated that the waterway will remain closed. British official: "Iran’s reckless attacks on commercial shipping are intolerable" and working with allies to consider maritime security options. The Group of Seven (Garentarent) has also agreed to establish coordination to restore freedom of navigation in the region.
