Trump 2028 talk hits GOP gathering: ‘Only 1 chance at this’

Evangelical leader Franklin Graham has urged his fellow conservatives to do "everything we can" to keep President Donald Trump in power until 2028. Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Grapevine, Texas, Graham stated that the 22nd Amendment, which prevents any person from being elected president more than twice, should be applied. However, Graham later issued a statement to Newsweek through the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association stating that he had misspoken about re-electing President Trump's policies but had changed his mind. Critics, including conservative podcast host and former GOP congressman Joe Walsh, have criticized Graham's remarks as proof that Trump has no intention of obeying the 22th Amendment. While legal experts say such efforts would face insurmountable constitutional barriers, Trump has previously suggested an unconstitutional third term.
