Nevada Sen. Jacky Rosen has criticized the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for potentially canceling the TSA PreCheck and Global Entry programs due to funding issues. Rosen, a Democrat from a state heavily dependent on tourism, called the threat to cancel the programs "counterproductive" and "unnecessary". She also accused DHS Secretary Kristi Noem of using her authority to select what government services she can provide, or threaten to withhold, to create political uncertainty. This comes after Global Entry and PreCheck were first suspended and reopened last week, but Noem has said she might suspend the program due to budget issues.
