New Data On Fatal FL Traffic Crashes Released By Feds

The US Department of Transportation (DOT) has revealed that last year, overall, traffic deaths fell to record lows, with an estimated 36,640 deaths in 2025, a 6.7 percent decline from 2024, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHT). Florida saw a 2.9 percent decrease in traffic deaths from the previous year. The NHTSA also revealed that of the 3,047 traffic deaths recorded in 2025 in Florida, around 24 percent were alcohol-related. The agency has designated National Distracted Driving Awareness Month for April.
