Santa Fe archbishop responds to President Trump's pope comments

Catholic Archbishop John Wester of Santa Fe, New Mexico, has defended Pope Leo XIV following President Donald Trump's controversial statement against him on social media. Wester stated that the pope has a right to call for peace and that if he disagrees, he should not attack the president. The president's criticism came after Pope Leo had spoken against the war in Iran and U.S. military action in Venezuela. The pope was only put there by the Church as an American, and it's unclear why he chose this position.
