Zhan Petrosyants, a restaurateur and friend of former New York Mayor Eric Adams, has been indicted on insurance fraud and money laundering counts in a money laundering scheme alongside two men previously sued by GEICO. Petrosyant, who owned high-end spots Adams frequented, allegedly submitted fraudulent claims to insurers for unnecessary medical services, which were billed through shell corporations controlled by his co-conspirators. Vladislav Stoyanovsky and Dmitriy Khavko are also accused of running a similar insurance fraud scheme in 2024. Prosecutors allege these three transferred millions from advances into Sunstone Service and Blue Tech Supplies, which are not legitimate medical providers, and operated with the help of a New York law firm named in the case. PetroSyants pleaded not guilty to all charges and Khavos were released on bail.
