Alex Hutchinson, the creative director of Far Cry 4 and Assassin's Creed 3, has suggested that asset reuse could be the answer to saving video games. He argues that modern Japanese developers have grasped the concept of asset reuse, as well as Western developers who spend too much time on "pointless work". He suggests that AI vibe-coding for prototypes could potentially save months.
