A lawsuit by Oklahoma homeowner Billy Hursh alleges a secret scheme by State Farm to defraud homeowners. The lawsuit alleges that State Farm developed a "Hail Focus Initiative" to reduce the amount of full roof replacements covered by the company. The claim alleges that the company used this initiative to narrow the definition of hail damage and thereby reduce the cost of homeowners' insurance claims. The case against State Farm has reached the highest court in the state. Over 600 homeowners in Oklahoma are currently suing the insurance company. Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond has filed a motion to intervene in their case, arguing that the attorney general's office has no regulatory authority to investigate.
