California Governor Gavin Newsom has announced three new state parks, including one along the Fresno-Madera County line and another on the Madera-Fresno County line. The state park system will also add Dust Bowl Camp in Kern County and Feather River Park in Yuba County. This is the largest park expansion in years and funded through existing resources and philanthropic support. The Natural Resources Secretary explained that the new parks will not cost the state any money up front. The San Joaquin River Conservancy is eager to transfer the land to state parks and plans to begin the process soon.
