Housing advocates have filed a lawsuit against the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) over the appointment of Keith Pettigrew as its CEO. The advocates argue that the appointment violates the Illinois Open Meetings Act, which requires public bodies to give advance notice of meetings and prohibits them from taking action on items not listed on the agenda. The lawsuit also criticizes the board for voting 7-2 to appoint Pettigraw.
