New York Mets have sent 22-year-old Jonah Tong to Triple-A for a season of seasoning, which is expected to provide him with a fully functional starting rotation if he is fully fit. The move is seen as a necessary move for Tong, who made one Grapefruit League appearance this spring and allowed three earned runs in 2.2 innings. The team is already entering the new season with a six-man rotation, with the newly-acquired Freddy Peralta leading the team. If successful, Tong will likely be ready to make the transition to the big leagues next season.
