A Los Angeles jury has found social media giants, Google and Microsoft, guilty of creating addictive products and platforms that harm minors. The jury has awarded $3 million in compensatory damages to plaintiff K.M. However, it is expected that the punitive amount will be similar to the $375 million awarded in a similar case in New Mexico. Both companies have expressed disagreement over the verdict and are exploring legal options.
