Cristobal Liobardo Vasquez-Sanchez, a Salvadoran national with 18 prior charges, has been arrested on sex crime charges in Virginia after ignoring a federal immigration enforcement detainer request. Abigail Spanberger, she ended state agency cooperation with ICE and demanded judicial warrants, which have been dismissed by immigration experts as irrelevant. Despite these charges, VasquezSanchez was never detained pretrial and instead released back onto the street each time. Despite this, ICE has lodged another detainer against the suspect.
