The restaurant group behind Pa’La Wood-Fired Kitchen and Tortas Paquimé is set to open two new West Valley restaurants this spring. Magdaleña, named after a rose variety, will debut in Goodyear’s GSQ in late May and will feature live-fire cooking and take culinary inspiration from Latin America. The fast-casual restaurant, which will also open a more casual spot with Paquimex, will take fan-favorite dishes from TortasPaquimee and build on the menu with new plates and a limited bar. The team behind these restaurants is Omar Alvarez, who moved to Arizona more than 20 years ago to live in the West Valley and has seen growth in the west side of town.
