Democrats fume about their old age "liability problem"

The death of Rep. David Scott (D-Ga.) has sparked a debate among Democratic lawmakers and activists about the party's aging leadership. One House Democrat called it a "liability problem" as they need every vote they can get to prevent a war in Iran, protect voting rights, and hold DHS accountable. Scott's death leaves the party down another vote at a crucial moment, with Republicans at just 218 seats to Democrats' 212. His death puts more pressure on older Democrats who are running for reelection. The number of House members to die in office during the last two years has also been noted, with all but one of whom being 70 or older.
