President Trump fired Attorney General Pam Bondi as he and Bondi were on their way to the Supreme Court for the arguments of a birthright citizenship case. Bondi had reportedly asked Trump if she could remain in her position until summer, but he rejected this request. The termination was due to dissatisfaction with Bondi's speed and the handling of the Epstein files, lack of positive news coverage directed at the DOJ. Todd Blanche is expected to temporarily replace Bondi, while Lee Zeldin is also considered for the position. This is the second major shakeup in Trump's administration after Kristi Noem was dismissed as Secretary of Homeland Security.
