This comes after President Donald Trump launched Operation Epic Fury, killing Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other officials. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps has responded by closing the Strait of Hormuz, effectively shutting down the global oil trade. For every $10 increase in Brent crude, U.S. gas prices increase by roughly 24 cents per gallon, according to AAA. In a social media post, President Trump suggested that countries like the UK should buy their own oil from the United States.
