The Supreme Court has sided with internet service provider Cox Communications in a copyright dispute with record labels over illegal music downloads. The court ruled that the company bears no liability for the copyright violations of its customers, reversing a jury verdict and lower-court rulings. The lawsuit was led by Sony Music Entertainment, who claimed that Cox did not do enough to stop customers from downloading music they did not pay for.
