Valentino Amil, 31, is facing murder charges in connection with the vehicular death of 74-year-old Dannielle Spillman in SoMa. Amil was driving with his wife and two children in the car when he allegedly accelerated into Spilledman, knocking her onto the hood of the car and running her over. His defense will argue that he believed his family was threatened by Spillan and he was protecting them by trying to drive off. However, District Attorney Brooke Jenkins has stated there is no evidence to support a self-defense argument in this case.
